Les Harris is a leader in the emergence of the visionary arts movement. He was educated at the Maryland Institute College of Art and at Johns Hopkins University.

Les Harris taught at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, Villa Julie College, the Park School and the Albany Academy in New York. Additionally, he has served as the artist director of A Studio Gallery, organizing the ongoing cycle of On Time, Space and Other Dimensions.

His wide ranging credits and honors include appearing on Art in Public Places, Channel 2s Susans People, Channel 13s Maryland by George, and Maryland Public Television. He was selected for a visit by the critic from the Village Voice at Maryland Art Place, and has also been featured in articles in the Baltimore Sun newspaper, Baltimore Magazine, Horizon Magazine, The City Paper, The Urbanite Magazine, Influence Magazine,Johns  Hopkins and “nest” magazines.

Les Harris has been the recipient of various awards, including the Maryland State Art Councils New Genre for his work City Spaces at the USF & G Building, and has been awarded City Grants from the Mayors Advisory Council on Art and Culture.
